The team is dedicated to developing artificial intelligence underwater image recognition and intelligent baiting technology for shrimp farming, hoping to help the fishery industry save manpower, reduce risk, and increase production value and efficiency with AI intelligent technology, bringing Taiwan's fishery industry into a new generation of intelligence.
The team was awarded the “Future Technology Award 2021”, the “19th National Innovation Award 2022”, the “2023 Continuing Innovation Award”, and the “2023 APICTA MERIT Award”. In addition to these accolades, the system has undergone successful validation in 10 field trials, with verification conducted by the Aquaculture Research Center of the Fisheries Research Institute in Tungkang Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan. The results indicate that the system can increase shrimp farming survival rates by 20%, enhance the feed conversion ratio by 6%, and boost overall production by 26%, serving as an outstanding example of applying AI technology to the traditional aquaculture industry.
